Kenneth Doucet is the new Constable for the 4th Justice of the Peace Court in Lafourche Parish after winning a narrow race.

Doucet, a Democrat, edged out Sullivan Cheramie, also a Democrat, by only 104 votes. Doucet earned 3,730 votes to Cheramie’s 3,626. Official voter turnout was 60.3 percent, according to the Secretary of State. Doucet replaces Lois Gautreaux as constable.
