“One of my favorite subjects in school is math, and although I have always loved to read, I have also had an interest in the building and designing of buildings and bridges. Because of this interest, I knew early on I wanted to become a civil engineer. Currently, my goal is to attend Texas A&M University upon graduating, so I can one day design these structures myself. I have always known the importance of working hard to achieves this goal, but I have also understood the importance of giving back to the community. I have always been driven to give back to the community; however, I am proudest of my efforts to help those with disabilities in our community. A close relative of mine is disabled, so I have a passion for helping those with special needs and improving their lives in any way I can. I plan on continuing my service well into my adult life especially my work with those with disabilities while I continue to work towards making the world a better place.”
