Merry Christmas, friends! Do you have any Christmas traditions with your family? My family and I always exchange presents on Christmas Eve. To save money and make the gifts more special, we exchange homemade gifts.

This year, I am giving all my family and friends homemade cookies! I will bake them myself and place them in decorative tins.

You can’t go wrong with delicious baked treats when sharing gifts, but can you think of other gifts you may be able to make yourself?

In the past, I’ve made snow globes and Christmas tree ornaments. The internet is a great resource for finding easy homemade gift ideas. Have an adult help you find more ideas.

Make Your Own Snow Globe

This quick, easy project is fun to make and could be a great homemade gift.

Instructions:

1. Put a small drop of silicone sealant on the bottom of your toy.

2. Press the toy firmly in the center of the jar lid. Let dry for at least 10 minutes.

3. Fill your jar with distilled water.

4. Add one to two drops of glycerin.

5. Add a couple pinches of glitter.

6. Add silicone sealant to the outside rim of the jar.

7. Screw jar lid onto jar tightly. There will be water overflow,   so you may want to do this over a towel or a sink.

8. Wipe off excess water.

9. Shake your globe and enjoy!

Supplies needed:

• Small glass jar with lid
• Silicone sealant
• Small toy to put inside jar
• Distilled water
• Glycerin (available at drug or craft stores)
• Glitter
