Things were tough for residents before Hurricane Ida came to South Louisiana, now that the storm has left communities in despair, some residents are in situations where they need help. Lafourche Parish Community Action understands this and the program offers resources that can provide bill assistance.

 

Lafourche Parish Office of Community Action has various resources and programs that residents can take advantage of to get assistance with everyday expenses and bills. Emergency services will provide residents with utility bill assistance, food vouchers, medication assistance, and more. Applicants for emergency assistance must apply and meet income guidelines. Those needing assistance can call (985) 537-7603.


 

Community Action also assists with health and hunger prevention by providing food vouchers. Residents must apply and meet income guidelines to receive a one-time food voucher. They also assist with uniforms, school supplies, books, and more for K-12 and Secondary Lafourche Parish Schools, like other programs, applicants must apply and meet income guidelines.
