Sandra Maritza Calderon, 83, died Friday, May 19, 2023. Born November 7, 1939 she was a native of Leon, Nicaragua and resident of Houma, Louisiana.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 10:00 am until service time at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM at the church.
She is survived by her husband Gonzalo Calderon; children, Gonzalo Calderon, Jr., Luisa Calderon (Dr. James Mire), Leonel Calderon; grandchildren, Carolina Tate (Eric), Alejandro J. Tefel (Jessica), Cristina M. Tefel; great grandchildren, Charlie, Hayes, Mila and Noel; siblings, Renee Duque-Estrada, Sylvia Baltodano, Nelly Maria Ortiz.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Anastacio Ortiz and Nelly Blandon; siblings, Alvaro Ortiz, Anastacio Ortiz, Corina Ortiz. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was full of life.
The family would like to thank Dr. Alain Chesnut and the staff of Haydel Memorial Hospice, especially Patti and McKenzie as well as her caregivers, Carmen and Blanca.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Ordoyne Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
