November 7, 2011Alvin Joseph Giroir Jr., 63, a native of Belle Rose, La., and resident of Napoleonville, La., died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011.
Mr. Giroir was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was employed with LeBlanc’s Payless for more than 18 years. He was a humorous, loving man and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his mother, Lydia Giroir; daughter, Amy Giroir; son, Alvin Giroir III; sisters, Linda Viso, Sylvia Coupel and Lisa Thibodaux; brother, Jeffrey Giroir; stepdaughters, Rose, Debbie and Paula; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maudrey Giroir; father, Alvin Giroir Sr.; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Giroir and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Thibodaux.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Ourso Funeral Home in Donaldsonville, La., with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville, La. Interment will be at the church cemetery. (Ourso)
