November 11, 2010Nov. 13-14: The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office will hold a free hunter safety course at the Government Complex in Mathews. Saturday’s session is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The final day of the course will take place at the LPSO Shooting Range at 3451 Highway 182 in Raceland from 9 a.m. to noon. Students must attend class both days, be at least 10-years-old and pass a written and practical exam to become certified. (985) 449-4480.
Nov. 13-14 – Nicholls State baseball coach Seth Thibodeaux will host the Turkey Time Camp at Broadmoor Field in Houma. The camp is geared for players 6-13 and will run from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday and 1-4 p.m. on Sunday. T-shirts will be provided to all participants, but campers must bring their own gear. Nov. 18-21: The TLAFA Ag Fair will be held at the Houma Airbase Arena on 221 Moffet Road in Houma. Among the attractions will be carnival rides, a Cajun kitchen contest, a dog show and a rodeo.
