Geneva “Neil” Champagne Bourg, 75, a native of Waterproof, La. and a resident of Theriot, La., died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2006.


Visitation will be from 2 to 10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006 at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma and from 8:30 to 10 a.m. funeral time Monday, Nov. 27, 2006 at St. Eloi Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.


She is survived by her foster son, Nolan Darcey and wife, Cathy of Theriot; foster daughter, Gloria Mae Darcey of Houma; her stepdaughter, Judith Pellegrin of Grand Caillou; 3 brothers, E.J. Theriot and wife, Renda of Houma, Roland Theriot and wife, Maxine of Theriot, and Clayton “Pace” Theriot and wife, Jeri of Houma; two sisters, Gladys Christopher of Batesville, Ark. and Gloria Verrett of Theriot; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Abbie Bourg; his parents, Nitar Champagne and Genevia Crochet of Theriot; two granddaughters, Dawn Marie Darcey and Susan Pellegrin, and two brothers, Alfred “Pete” and Dale Theriot.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the knights of Columbus and V.F.W., and a parishoner of the St. Eloi Catholic Church.
