Abraham Joseph Griffin, 76, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and resident of Chauvin, La., died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010.


Mr. Griffin was a member of St. Joseph Knights of Columbus 5013. He was a past Grand Knight and a Bingo Chairman for 20 years. He was also a member of Rev. Patrick V. Curran Assembly 2214, a Past Faithful Navigator and a member of the St. Joseph Council where he was the Cemetery Chairman. Abraham was a lifetime member of the Ward 7 Citizen’s Club and a volunteer for Toys for Tots and Lagniappe on the Bayou. He was a faithful Saints and LSU fan and he enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Landry Griffin; daughters, Elizabeth Fuselier, Melanie (Jerome) Soudelier and Kayla (Barry) Dupre; brother, Earl Griffin; five grandchildren, Darrel Trahan Jr., Tiffany Soudelier, Mandi Trahan Pellegrin, Jade Dupre and Paul Dupre; and one great-grandchild, Emily Trahan.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre Abraham and Louise Guidry Griffin; son, Brent Griffin; and sister, Emma Lois Prince.

He is buried at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery.
