Julie Bloch Coplon, 86, a native of Donaldsonville, La., and former resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010 in Lincolnshire, Ill., of natural causes.

Ms. Coplon’s family owned Leon Bloch’s, which eventually became known as Arthur Coplon’s, once she and her husband took it over after the war. She adored Thibodaux and the only thing that could separate her from her beloved city was the lure of being near grandchildren. She moved first to Dallas, and later near Chicago as the grandchildren grew up. Julie will best be remembered for her southern charm and her shy humor, and for the love that she and Arthur shared for one another.

She is survived by her sister, Leone Bloch Risman; daughters, Julie (Robert Capan) Coplon, Denise (Bart) Bookatz and Ruth (Michael) Elbaum; and four grandchildren, Lauren, Karen, Sarah and Jacob.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Coplon; parents, Leon and Julia Labe Bloch.
