January 29, 2010Derek “Shawee” Joseph Griffin, 19, a native and resident of Lockport, La., died at 5:08 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010.
Mr. Griffin enjoyed fishing, hunting and listening to music.
He is survived by his parents, David and Jane Griffin; grandmother, Josephine Lee; brothers, Joshua (Maura) and Ron (Susan) Orgeron; sister, Darcy Griffin; godchild, Treyvene Alan; godparents, Matthew Hebert, and Richard and Sandra Griffin; nephews, Milton Pereda, Rhett, Ethan and Joel Orgeron; nieces, Angela Pereda and Rana Orgeron; uncle, Carl Hebert.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Wilma Hebert; grandfathers, Lorris Griffin and Nolan Hebert; and uncle, Doyle Hebert.
Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Mathews, La.
