David Gerard Brien, a native and resident of New Orleans, La., entered his eternal rest Wednesday, October 8, at the age of 44 years.


Son of Lawrence Francis Brien and Margaret Cavanaugh Brien of Bayou Blue, La.; brother of Stanley Brien and wife Laura, and Randy Brien of New Orleans, La.; also survived by a nephew Zachary Brien, numerous aunts and uncles and a host of cousins, colleagues and dear friends.


He was preceded in death by his grandparents Elizabeth Morillion Brien, Lance Brien and Laura Pontiff Brien, Francis Cavanaugh and Aurelia Cavanaugh.

He was a longtime valued Paralegal with Hailey McNanara Law Firm, an active member of SNAP, and an active member of Lakeview Civic Improvement Association, who believed and practiced giving back generously to the community. He will be sorely missed by all.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend visitation 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, October 10, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, October 11, at St. Louis Catholic Church with mass to follow Saturday. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
