Swamp tour legend "Black" Guidry dies

(of Thibodaux) John Bogle, 76, of Thibodaux, La., died on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.Mr. Bogle was a United States Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He received the Silver Star for saving his whole base when the Viet Cong breached the base perimeter. He also received a Purple Heart. He worked for Cameco Sugarcane and the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office after his military career. He enjoyed the outdoors, brewing and distilling, traveling and taxidermy. He is survived by his wife, Nora Bogle; children, Billy, Jonathan, Jessica and Jennifer Bogle, Susi Whitney and Cristine Drake; brothers, Bobby and Billy Hamilton; and sisters, Faye Crawford and Barbara Hamilton. Burial is at a later date. (Ordoyne)
