Documenting wells leads to cleanup
September 27, 2011Richard Labat Sr., 70, a native of Vacherie, La., and resident of Chackbay, La., died at 2:22 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011.
Mr. Labat was retired from Union Carbide.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeanette Labat; mother, Noemie Labat; sons, Donald (Angella), Richard Jr. (Tori), Chris (Leslie) and Michael (Gina) Labat; daughter, Janel (Glenn) Constant; sisters, Shirly Rodrigue and Peggy LaBom: 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rumsey Labat; and grandchild, Stephen Labat.
Burial was at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church Cemetery. (Thibodaux)
