Audrey Ann Cortez Lewis, 72, a native of Thibodaux, La., and resident of Morgan City, La., died at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
A Nicholls State University education graduate, Mrs. Lewis taught speech and English at Morgan City High, Franklin Jr. High and Central Catholic High schools. She also directed children’s theatre for 20 years, volunteer for children’s church at Holy Cross Catholic Church and served as a Girl Scout leader.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean McCorkle; and her two grandchildren.
Burial is at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux. (Twin City)
