Paul Celestin Sr., 76, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011.
Mr. Celestin was a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Alta-Lee Celestin; daughters, Debra (Michael) Townsend and Sharon (Jerome) Singleton; sons, Paul Jr. (Detrich), Dereck, Jerroid (Juwana) and Jerome Celestin; brother, Moses Celestin; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Celestin and Nellie Ringold; brothers, Osborne, Thomas Jr. and Charles Sr. Celestin; and sisters, Eula Morris, Olga Walker, Cedonia Robinson, Marguerite Simmons, Helen Lewis and Gloria Webre.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28 at Community Funeral Home in Houma. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Bobtown Cemetery. (Community)
