Dear Editor,

Compared to some of our neighbors, Terrebonne Parish was spared the brunt of Hurricane Isaac. As we recover from this event there are many people who worked long hours to ensure that our parish stayed safe and remained ready to respond.

I would like to personally thank everyone from Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government, Jerry Larpenter and the entire Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Terrebonne Levee and Conservation District, the Houma Police Department, the Houma Fire Department, all of the local volunteer fire departments, first responders, volunteers, charities, local media outlets, as well as everyone working in our Emergency Operations Center. We succeeded during this event because of the teamwork displayed by everyone.

I would also like to thank all of the residents of Terrebonne Parish for their diligence and preparation for this storm. I encourage everyone to not let their guard down as we are still in midst of hurricane season.

Michel H. Claudet,

Terrebonne Parish President
