Evelyn Mary Mouton Dupuis, 92, a native of Alexandria, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010.

Mrs. Dupuis was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Catholic Church. For 47 years, she owned Barbara’s Youth Shop. The store’s humble beginnings included mostly handmade items, but it later expanded into a specialty store, offering infant and youth clothing and shoes – including school uniforms.


She was a member and past queen of the Krewe of Hyacinthians and a benevolent supporter of Louis Infant Center.

She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Salvatore) Cipolla and Renee (Dr. John) Milek; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Laura) Mouton; and a host of other relatives.

Mrs. Dupuis is buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
