Kathryn “Kathy” King Gautreaux, 65, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 4:50 a.m.

She is survived by her husband, L.G. Gautreaux; two sons, Lonnie Gautreaux and Tim Gautreaux; two daughters, Kathryn Ourso and her husband Chip and Rebecca Cenac and her husband Matthew; one brother, Kenneth King; one sister, Alice “Fe” Margaret Haydel; and two grandchildren, Jacob and Sarah Ourso.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoffman and Alice Guidry King; one brother, Hoffman King, Jr.; and one sister, Marlene Wimbish.

Kathy was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Gregory Catholic Church in Houma. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a retired legal secretary for Henderson, Hanneman and Morris.

She was joyful, compassionate and caring, a true gift from God to all who knew her. She had a true zest for life, never letting her disease keep her from lunch with the ladies, card playing and cheering on Jacob and Sarah in their sporting events. She was an inspiration not only at the end of it, but throughout it. She will be truly missed by all her friends and family.

She is buried in St. Francis de Sales No. 2 Cemetery in Houma.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Vandebilt Catholic High School Endowment Fund or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
