Laf. voters to decide on propositions

The polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. for Saturday’s election.
Voters must be prepared to present a photo identification.
Residents may obtain a free Louisiana special identification card by presenting their voter registration information card to the Office of Motor Vehicles.

Lafourche celebrates ribbon cuttings at complex, launch
Lafourche Parish held three ribbon cutting ceremonies Monday.
The first and second were at Affordable Housing Complexes in Raceland and Thibodaux, respectively. The complexes, on Greenville Street in Raceland and Westover Drive in Thibodaus, will provide affordable housing to the area’s residents.
The last event took place in Leeville, commemorating the opening of the boat launch.
Portion of La. Highway 308 in Valentine closed
A bridge on La. Highway 308 in Valentine has caused a closure of the road.
The bridge is located just north of the Valentine Pontoon Bridge.
The closure was needed as a result of a field inspection, which discovered failures in the timber piles supporting the bridge decks and caps, according to DOTD. Vehicular traffic will not be allowed across the bridge until repairs are completed. No timeline was given.
