“In A Word…” Thibodaux photographer Brian Naquin’s exhibit brings a word to mind n solitude, tranquility, pride n and portrays a personal point of view of southern Louisiana culture.

“Impressionists and Modern Masters,” through Jan. 7, 2007. This exhibition includes works from the New Orleans Museum of Art. Works by such world-famous European artists as Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Pablo Picasso, and by American artists including Mary Cassatt, Stuart Davis, Robert Henri and Georgia O’Keeffe are among the 62 paintings and works on paper. The works are on loan in gratitude for the museum’s support to NOMA in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

“CARNAVAL!,” The exhibit captures the sights, sounds and pageantry of Carnival celebrations around the world. It is on loan from the Museum of International Folk Art, and includes eight rural and urban locations in Europe and the Americas.

“Friends of the Garden Invitational: Delaina LeBlanc,” Held through Jan. 12, 2007. Born in New Orleans and educated at Southeastern Louisiana University, LeBlanc now lives in Thibodaux. Her work has shown extensively in Louisiana and the south. This is a mixed media photography exhibition that examines man’s association with Louisiana’s vanishing coast.
