Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra “Fiesta Sinfonica” (New Orleans) Jan. 12, 8 p.m., at the Convention Center Theatre, 900 Convention Center Blvd. Conducted Carlos Miguel Prieto, featured performer clarinetist Paquito D’Rivera and the orchestra will present Villa-Lobos: Bachianas Brasileiras No. 2; Marquez: Danzon No. 2; Moncayo: Huapango; Ginastera: Malambo from Estancia; and D’Rivera: Selected works. LSU and Charlie’s Preservation Society Presents: TriFactor (New Orleans) Jan. 13, 8 p.m., at the Contemporary Arts Center, 900 Camp St. TriFactor features world-class experimental jazz musicians violinist Billy Bang; baritone saxophonist Hamiet Bluiett; and percussionist Kahil El’Zbar. This is the first time the group has played in the Gulf South; they’ve toured Europe and played a number of major jazz festivals. Tickets are $25 for general admission. Tim Laughlin (Thibodaux) Jan. 14, 3 p.m., at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 817 Jackson St. Part of the St. John’s Music Series. Violinists Borislava Iltcheva-Farrell and husband Aaron Farrell will be featured.
