A 20-year-old Gibson man is being held at the Terrebonne Parish jail in connection with allegations that he threatened to post pictures of himself and his ex-girlfriend having sexual relations on the internet if she did not continue the relationship.

Tristen Trimaine Thomas of 5676 North Bayou Black Drive is being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond, charged with extortion.

Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said that on March 1 deputies were contacted by a 19-year-old woman who “stated that she was being threatened by her ex-boyfriend to have sex.”

The teen told officers that sexual relations between her and the boyfriend were recorded with consent. Then the relationship ended.

“The victim stated that the suspect contacted her through social media and threatened to post the video of them having sex on a social media website,” a statement from Larpenter’s office reads. “The victim stated that this was not the first time that this occurred. She said that she was afraid that he would post the video therefore she went and had sex with him.”
