UPDATE:::  We are currently investigating the gunshots that that were fired last night near the corner of Roussell Street and Main Street.

Initially it was reported that there had been someone shot, however that does not appear to be the case. The gunshots appeared to have been fired into the air during an altercation and caused damage to the Whitney Bank Building. The person who initially reported as being the victim was actually found to be the suspect responsible for the gunshots. The suspect was identified as Kayden Ledet, 18 years old, and was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a firearm, illegal carrying of a firearm and simple criminal damage to property. This is still an ongoing investigation and we will release further details at a later date and time.

The Houma Police Department Officers, TPSO Deputies and many other first responders were quickly able to secure the area. We would like to encourage everyone along the parade if you see something to say something.
