Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office authorities continue to investigate after a body was found over the weekend in Bayou Lafourche.

At around 2 p.m. on Sunday, a concerned citizen reported that a body was floating in the bayou near West 188th Street in Galliano.

A local firefighter arrived on the scene and pulled the body to the shore. Authorities later identified him as Terry Angelle, 69, of Galliano.

Deputies on scene found Angelle’s arms and legs were bound with rope at the time he was pulled to shore.

The victim’s bike was also found on a dock on the west side of the bayou about 200 yards from where the body was found.

Authorities believe the victim had been in the bayou for several days before being found on Sunday.

Investigation into Angelle’s death is continuing. Anyone with information about the death is asked to call Crime Stoppers Bayou Region at 1-800-743-7433.

Information which leads to an arrest may net a $1,000 cash reward.
