An investigation into a Thibodaux homicide on Oct. 15 has netted four arrests so far and authorities are still looking for another man they believe is involved in the incident, which took the life of a 20-year-old Galliano man.


On Monday just before 8:24 p.m., Thibodaux Police Department officers were informed of a shooting in city limits that took the life of Alex Morena, of Galliano.

Authorities activated the city’s Immediate Response Team after detectives’ investigation led to multiple other arrest warrants in connection with the shooting. 

Authorities first arrested Tyrick Hills, 19, of Thibodaux. He’s charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder for his alleged role in the incident. He is held on a $1.5 million bond.


Authorities also have identified three others as suspects, arresting each for second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder. All are held on $1.5 million bond.

They are: Ron Brown, 18, of Thibodaux; Saharold Holmes, 19, of Thibodaux and Tandell Azema, of Thibodaux. 

Authorities said on Thursday that the case is still under investigation and another man, Kevon Southall, 22, of Houma, is wanted for second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.
