A 25-year-old man is in custody of the Houma Police after he allegedly pointed a handgun in the face of a woman and threatened to kill her.

On May 9, shortly before 10 a.m., HPD responded to the 400 block of Naquin Street in reference to a disturbance with a firearm.

During investigation, authorities learned that Jeremy Woodside, 25, of Shelly Street, was involved in an altercation with a female.

During the altercation, the suspect allegedly grabbed a gun, pointed it at the woman and then threatened to kill her.

As investigation continued, it was discovered that Woodside left the residence and was headed toward the Deweyville area.

Authorities went to that area and ended up finding him near Aycock Street and Lee Avenue, taking him into custody without incident.

HPD says a .45 semi-automatic pistol was located in his possession.

Woodside is charged with aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He was taken to the Terrebonne Parish Jail on the above-listed charges.
