A Galliano man is in custody of authorities after he allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old girl.
Earlier this month, the Golden Meadow Police Department was informed that David Nelson Jr., 19, of Galliano, had possibly had sexual relations with a 16-year-old girl.
Golden Meadow Police informed the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, which employed juvenile detectives to investigate the case.
Detectives learned that Nelson allegedly had consensual sex with the victim at least two times, which led authorities to question Nelson on Monday.
During questioning, Nelson allegedly admitted to having sex with the girl, which led to a warrant for his arrest.
He is charged with carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
He is out of the Lafourche Parish Detention Center after posting a $2,500 bond.
