A 29-year-old Thibodaux man was pulled over on his tricycle on Monday morning by the Thiboodaux Police Department.

Authorities found drugs in his possession, leading to an arrest.

On Monday, September 30, 2019, shortly after midnight, TPD officers were patrolling the area of St. Mary Street near Hickory Street when a subject was seen riding a tricycle with no lighting.

Authorities stopped the tricycle, then made contact with the driver, identifying him as Chad Ayzinne, 29, of Thibodaux.

Authorities noticed that the suspect was very nervous around officers and started to yell profanities.

This led to officers searching the suspect’s person, locating a glass smoking pipe containing suspected cocaine residue.

Officers were unable to complete the search, though, because the suspect then fled on foot.

After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect surrendered, but authorities said it was not before he threw several bags of suspected methamphetamine and crack cocaine.

The officers found the discarded drugs and apprehended the suspect without further incident.

Ayzinne is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of crack cocaine less than 28 grams (felony), possession of methamphetamine less than 28 grams (felony), resisting an officer and bicycle lamps required.

Mr. Ayzinne was arrested and transported to the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex, where he remains on a $10,850.00 Bond.
