Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet announced the arrest of a three suspects on multiple narcotics related charges, in connection with an investigation completed by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and K-9 Divisions.  Mariah J. Carrere, 30, Dean Anthony Porche Jr, 45, and John Adam Verrett, 41, were arrested for multiple narcotics violations, stemming from the investigation.


 

On November 7th, shortly after 8 pm, the Narcotics and K-9 Divisions responded to information of suspicious activity at an address in the 400 block of Highridge Drive and encountered multiple suspects at the residence.  While speaking with the suspects, Agents and Handlers discovered evidence of illegal narcotics activity within the residence, which led to a search warrant being obtained for the residence.

 

At the completion of the search warrant, Agents were able to locate and recover amounts of suspected Heroin, suspected Methamphetamines, drug related paraphernalia, along with a stolen firearm within the residence.

 

During the investigation, Authorities arrested Mariah Joann Carrere for charges of Illegal possession of a stolen firearm, Illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of narcotics, Possession of a CDS II, and Possession of drug paraphernalia.  Carrere was jailed at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex, where she remains on a $5,000 total bond by local judges.


 

Authorities arrested Dean Porche Jr for charges of Illegal possession of a stolen firearm, Illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of narcotics, Possession of a CDS II, Possession of a CDS III, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic violence offenses, and an unrelated arrest warrant.  Porche was jailed at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex, where he remains on a $25,500 total bond by local judges.

 

Authorities arrested John Adam Verrett for charges of Illegal possession of a stolen firearm, Illegal carrying of a weapon in the presence of narcotics, Possession with the intent to distribute a CDS II, Possession with the intent to distribute a CDS I, Possession of a CDS I, Possession of drug paraphernalia, Possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic violence offenses, Transactions involving drug proceeds, and an unrelated arrest warrant.  Porche was jailed at the Terrebonne Parish Criminal Justice Complex, where he remains on a $100,000 total bond by local judges.

 

Sheriff Soignet would like to commend the Narcotics and K-9 Divisions for their outstanding work in this investigation.  Sheriff Soignet said, “I’m extremely proud of our Agents and Handlers, and the tremendous job they continue to do day in and day out to rid our parish of dangerous narcotics and offenders.  This staff are a dedicated group of individuals who are relentless with the enforcement of narcotics activity in our parish, and we are very lucky to have these groups protecting our community.”
