The Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed to The Times this afternoon that a homicide investigation is underway in the death of a woman whose body was found in a residence in the 200 block of North Main Project Road in Schriever.
Authorities confirmed that just before 5:50 p.m. yesterday afternoon, workmen called TPSO and discovered the body of Leah Marie Carlos, 40.
Col. Terry Daigre, TPSO’s Chief Criminal Deputy, said authorities observed “at least one” gunshot wound in the victim.
The Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone with information regarding this incident call (985) 876-2500 or Bayou Region Crimestoppers Bayou Region at (800) 743-7433. Calls can be made anonymously and anyone with information leading to an arrest could be eligible for a Cash Reward up to $1,000.00.
