The CEO of a construction company is charged by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office after he allegedly opened a bank account, then withdrew funds that were not available.

Sheriff Jerry Carpenter said that on March 6, TPSO detectives started an investigation in reference to reported bank fraud and the illegal transmission of monetary funds.

Through investigation, detectives learned that Matthew J. Morris, the CEO of Complete Construction Contractors LLC, had opened an account at South Louisiana Bank, of Houma.

While doing so, he was awarded a line of credit for $250,000.00.

After the account was opened, authorities said non-sufficient funds were being transferred from various customer accounts and that Morris allegedly withdrew funds that were not available.

After several weeks of investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Morris, 39, of 21313 Turkey Drive, Baton Rouge, for charges of bank fraud and illegal transmission of monetary funds with a total bond of $1.2 million.

Morris is currently in jail in Livingston Parish where he is being held on similar charges.
