A 48-year-old Thibodaux woman is accused of grabbing a juvenile’s genitalia at a local park.
On June 17, Thibodaux Police Officers were called to a park in the 1400 block of Martin Luther King Drive where it was learned that two juveniles were approached by Rosemary Thomas, 48, of Thibodaux, while entering a restroom.
Authorities say that Thomas was intoxicated at the time of the encounter and she allegedly waited for the juveniles to exit the restroom.
When they did, Thomas allegedly made inappropriate comments toward the juveniles, then tried to hug one of them.
When the juvenile pulled away, she allegedly approached the other juvenile, pulled him toward her and grabbed his genitalia.
Thomas was not on the scene when authorities arrived, but she was identified through investigation and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
Authorities located her on Monday and took her into custody at 10:34 a.m.
She is charged with sexual battery and is held on a $10,000 bond.
