Are you a regional artist? Do you paint; create ceramics, handmade jewelry or sculptures?

Plans are in the works for Art Under the Oaks, a fine arts festival, to be held in Thibodaux this April. But organizers are in need of participants.

The event will feature local and regional artists and their creations. The artists will offer their art for sale.

In addition, regional authors will have their books on display for sale.

Art Van Go of the New Orleans Museum of Art, an instrument petting zoo, Just Kids at Art II, and an antique auto display will join other activities for all ages. And organizers announced there will be music and dance and food cooked on site.

The festival is part of the Nicholls State University “Jubilee; A Festival of the Arts and Humanities.”

For additional information, contact Aleta Leckelt, (985) 876-7831.

Art Under the Oaks will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 21, at the Edward Douglass White Historic Site, 2295 La. 1, six miles north of Thibodaux. Admission to the event will be free.
