The music of yesteryear returns to the Houma Municipal Auditorium Oct. 10 as the Houma-Terrebonne Community Band holds its Big Band Bash.

Set for 8 p.m. to midnight, the semi-formal event has served as the community band’s major fundraiser the past 25 years.

Band chairperson Cindy King promises another rousing night of music and dancing. The concert and stage bands’ play list includes many current Top 40 hits and instrumentals – everything from waltzes and ballads to cha-chas, jazz and rock. Prizes are awarded to the top dancers.

Tickets are $12.50 at the door or $10 in advance. Fabregas Music and Uni-Kut Hair Cutting in Houma and Hofman Music & Electronics in Thibodaux are pre-selling tickets. Proceeds from the event support the Houma-Terrebonne Community Band, a non-profit organization with about 50 members strong.

Reserved seating at the Big Band Bash is available via (985) 868-9129.
