After a two-year hiatus, the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club’s Bayou Bike Fest and Car Show returns to the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center. The two-day event is set for Saturday, Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 25, beginning at 9 a.m.

Water’s Edge will perform Saturday, and jambalaya will be sold.

The non-profit organization consists of retired and active law enforcement officers who share a love for riding motorcycles.

Club vice president Donald Tomlin – a big car enthusiast – is the force behind the Houma Chapter (Louisiana VI) show.

“We all love bikes and I have collector cars, so I brought up the idea to do a motorcycle and car show,” he said. “We had a great turnout the first year and everyone wanted to do a two-day event, so we decided to do that this year.”

Participation is open, according to Tomlin. The price to register vehicles outdoors is $20 or $60 indoors.

Registration forms are available at most auto parts dealers, including O’Reilley Auto Parts, Advance Auto Parts and Auto Zone or contact Tomlin at (985) 790-4257, Thomas Cope at (985) 790-6804 or Shane Fletcher at (985) 665-7662.

The first 100 participants will receive a dash plaque and a club participation plaque. Awards will go to the Top 50, Best in Show for classic originals, Best of Show car and motorcycle, Best Low Rider, Best Pain, Best Engine, Best Interior and farthest traveled.

Admission is $5 for anyone 12 and older, $2 for children ages 6-11 and free for children five and under. All fire, police, medical and military personnel get in free with the proper identification.

All proceeds from the event to go to the Child Advocacy Center.
