NEW ORLEANS, La. (Wednesday, July 2, 2008)-Rumba Buena, the city’s hottest Latin dance band, will perform free at the New Orleans Museum of Art to celebrate Colombian Independence Day on Sunday, July 20, from 1-4 p.m.

The Colombian Independence Day celebration, held in conjunction with the Museum’s presentation of its current major exhibition, The Baroque World of Fernando Botero, also will include authentic Colombian dancing and a cash bar featuring Colombian beer and frozen margaritas.

Rumba Buena has been wowing crowds at the biggest music festivals in the city, including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, the French Quarter Festival, and Fiesta Latina, as well as at nightclubs like Club 300 Jazz Bistro, Ray’s Boom Boom Room and Café East.

Admission to NOMA is free to Louisiana residents through the generosity of The Helis Foundation. For out-of-state visitors, admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $4 for children (agers 3-17).
