The Haven brings domestic violence to the forefront Saturday, April 10, at its 12th annual “Home is Where the Heart Is” Spring Gala.

The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center, 346 Civic Center Blvd. in Houma.

More than 20 local restaurants and chefs are readying tempting delicacies. And Houma musicians Todd Adams and Lawrence Breaux & Friends provide live entertainment. A silent auction on over 200 items will also generate funds.

Civic-minded residents can lend support to the Haven, an organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of violence in the home and empowering survivors of family violence and sexual assault to live safe, independent and violence-free lives. The Haven provides shelter, a 24-hour crisis line, legal advocacy, parenting classes and counseling.

Tickets to the fundraiser are $50 per person, or $100 for couples. For more information, call (985) 872-0757.
