“Diamond-hard brilliance, uncommonly poetic depths … breathtaking in precision, dexterity and unanimity of attack. Stunning.”

That’s how the Los Angeles Times described Intersection’s playing. Earning equally impressive kudos from the New York Post and The Seattle Times, the trio, violinist Laura Frautschi, cellist Kristina Reiko Cooper and pianist John Novacek, are connecting with audiences across the globe.

Their CD sales in Japan alone exceed 100,000, and the group’s releases are bestsellers in Asia.

It is Intersection’s traveled renditions of Ravel, Dvorak or Brahms that fork into previously unexplored byroads that engage listeners. It’s common for a Hungarian thread in Brahms to be spun into a sequence of Gypsy tunes, Dvorak into Slavic dance forms or Ravel into the ethereal world of sensuous French songs.

Intersection doesn’t shy away from American music.

Their repertoire spans some of the most avant garde of compositions to lighter fare such as excerpts from film, popular theatre and song.

Intersection kicks off the Community Concert Association of Morgan City’s 2011-12 season Sept. 22.

Tickets for the seven-production are currently available for $45 (adults) and $10 (students).

To purchase tickets via mail, write to P.O. Box 1515, Morgan City, La., 70381. For more information on the season, contact CCA secretary Floyd Cloutier at (985) 385-2307.
