The boar’s in the oven and the gator’s on the stove. That can only mean one thing: It’s time for Larose’s 14th annual Wild Game Supper.

The Larose Regional Park & Civic Center is home March 24 to the 14th annual Wild Game Supper.

The Thursday night affair has been known to draw upwards of 700 people. Why? They come for the 40-plus, one-of-a-kind menu items – Fried Kangaroo Strips with a Pepper Jelly Glacee, Sweet and Sour Wild Hog, Routeed Nutria and Antelope Kabobs – donated by hunters and prepared by some of Bayou Lafourche’s finest cooks. And the $45 donation – the admission price – benefits the Larose Regional Park Endowment Fund.

Tickets are available via mail only. To attend the supper, a $45 donation must be send to the endowment fund, P.O. Box 1105, Larose, LA, 70373. For parties of eight or more, V.I.P. tables are available for $600 and include a complimentary bottle of wine and a personal waitress. Appreciation supper invitations are mailed back to the donor.

Invitations can also be picked up and paid for in person at the Larose Civic Center administration office, open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Checks should be made to the LRP Endowment Fund.

Seating for the 2011 Larose Regional Park Wild Game Supper begins at 5:30 p.m. for V.I.P. tables and 6:45 p.m. for individuals. The evening includes live music, an auction and a cash bar as well.
