Cycle World of Houma is hosting a weekend memorial fundraiser honoring former employee, Brandon Shawn LeBouef, who passed away last August.

Sadly, LeBouef’s wife, Adele Grace LeCompte LeBoeuf, died 11 months prior in a car accident. They leave two children; Tyler, 15; and Brianna, 11.

The Brandon LeBouef Memorial Track Weekend is set for April 19-20, at the No Problem Raceway, 6470 Highway 996, in Belle Rose. All proceeds will go to establishing an educational trust fund for Tyler and Brianna.

“We knew we wanted to do something to give back to Brandon’s family because he was such as integral part of our family here at Cycle World,” said Ellen Diedrich, the company’s marketing and public relations coordinator.

The family event will feature drag and road-course racing, sports bike stunt shows, jambalaya and BBQ cook-offs, spacewalks for kids, and silent auctions showcasing autographed items and Brandon’s racing leathers.

Also, two CRF Honda dirt bikes will be given away.

Houma bluesman Tab Benoit and area bands Swing Arm and Souled Out will provide musical entertainment.

LeBouef began working at Cycle World at age 14 as a clean-up person. The Thibodaux native and Houma resident worked his way up to the position of finance manager, earning numerous awards from Honda, Kawasaki and Yahama for his expertise, Diedrich said.

LeBoeuf was employed by the company for 18 years, until his passing at age 33.

In his spare time, LeBouef loved repairing and racing cars and bikes.

He could be found at the No Problem Raceway on Wednesdays and weekends racing his Kawasaki ZX-14.

Although his family did not share his enthusiasm for motorcycles, they supported him wholeheartedly.

“Brandon had a passion for life and racing and we were blessed to have him as an employee and a friend,” said Cycle World owner Glenn Diedrich. “He is missed.”

Admission to the event is $20 for one day or $30 for both. Children under age 10 get in free. The gates open at 9 a.m.

Registration for road course race is $100 pre-race day, $125 the day of the event and limited to the first 70 entrants.
