Houma’s Les Amis de la Chanson is celebrating its 20th year with a Dec. 9 performance at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Thibodaux.

The second concert in this season’s Music at St. John’s Concert Series, the performance is slated to begin at 3 p.m.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for college students and free for students under age 18.

Les Amis de la Chanson’s annual Winter Concert will include some Christmas classics. Under the direction of Leslie Johnson VanOsdale, the choir has performed at a number of “Summer Pops” concerts and has teamed with the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Cathedral Choir of Houma on larger, extended choral works, including the Faure, Durufle, Rutter and Ellingboe requiems.

VanOsdale has served as an organist and choir director at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral since 1988, shortly after graduating from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. A talent in her own right, she has provided the music for most parish and Diocesan liturgical functions, as well as presented non-liturgical concerts.

The Winter Concert is supported in part by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Houma Regional Arts Council.
