The Bayou Junior Woman’s Club Mad Hatters return for the 14th year with a luncheon and fashion show April 6 at Nicholls State University.

Returning too is two-time Emmy award winning actor Christian LeBlanc, better known as the notorious Michael Baldwin on CBS’s daytime soap “The Young and the Restless.”

In addition to the parade of hats, the public can view fashions by Pat’s of Chauvin Inc.

In celebration of this year’s theme – “All Glamour & Glitz!” – a panel of celebrity judges will select winners in five categories: Gay ’90s/Roaring ’20s; Art Deco ’30s/Glamorous ’40s; Rock’n’Roll ’50s/Peace and Love ’60s; Deco ’70s/Material Girl ’80s; Anti-Fashion ’90s; and, in groups, “New Millennium Idols.”

Guests are encouraged to wear hats and join in the frivolity, however, headwear is not required.

Doors open at 10:30 a.m. at Nicholls’ ballroom. Cocktails, hat registration and celebrity networking begin at 11 a.m. Lunch and the fashion show kick off at noon.

Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the Mary de la Bretonne Scholarship, which aids a non-traditional Nicholls student; the Alice Marx LeBlanc Nursing Scholarship at Fletcher Technical College; the Bayou Junior Woman’s Club Nursing Scholarship at Louisiana Technical College’s Lafourche campus; and other requests from non-profit philanthropic organizations in Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes.
