Ever wonder how the Community Concert Association of Morgan City makes season passes so affordable?

“We have different levels of sponsorships … and we get a grant from the H&B Young Foundation, which helps us a great deal,” said Floyd Cloutier, secretary for the 63-year-old association.

For only $45 for the entire five-show series, $10 for students through grade 12, the only surviving community concert association in Louisiana has “something for everyone,” according to Cloutier.

On Feb. 25, 2011, Barbra Streisand and Frank Sinatra fans can enjoy “Barbra & Frank, The Concert that Never Was.” The two artists paying tribute to their characters are Sharon Owens and Sebastian Anzaldo.

“The two singers that never actually worked together, got together – (Sinatra) posthumously,” joked Cloutier.

The season’s final performers are the Dallas Brass Band, who play a mix of Dixieland, Broadway, Hollywood and patriotic music May 4, 2011, and Jim Witter, creator of “The Piano Men,” who takes the stage May 23, 2011. Fans of Billy Joel and Elton John will enjoy Witter’s “rockumentary.”

All concerts are held at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium Paul Schreier Theatre and start promptly at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased through the mail, at any of the concerts or through a board member. The mailing address is P.O. Box 1515, Morgan City, La., 70381.

For more information, call Cloutier at (985) 385-2307.

“We only sell season passes, but with the price as low as it is, it’s worth even just one of the concerts,” announced Cloutier. “You can’t beat the price.”
