Nicholls State University Department of Music will present a masterclass and recital by guest artist Angela McCuiston Thursday, April 22.

The recital at 7:30 p.m. in Talbot Theater will feature works for flute, piccolo, and alto flute. McCuiston will be assisted by Donna Sammarco on piano.

The masterclass will be at 3 p.m. in classroom 215 in Talbot Hall and will include a discussion on how to workout in a way that will avoid common musician injuries.

McCuiston teaches flute at Gulf Coast Community College and is Principal flute of the Panama City Pops, Assistant Principal/Piccolo of Sinfonia Gulf Coast of Destin and a member of the 129th Army Band in Nashville, Tenn.

“Angela’s talent to teach, her personal, sensitive playing, her experience to organize as well as her charming personality make her a successful and outstanding teaching and playing personality. She is a very intuitive and sensible teacher and player, and is a great piccoloist”, said Eva Amsler, Professor of flute at Florida State University.
