The National World War II Museum in New Orleans commences its hosting of a two-and-a-half-day international conference on the 70th anniversary of Pearl Harbor.

Conference attendees can meet surviving members of the Doolittle Raid, talk to eyewitnesses of the Oahu attack and other battles and listen to best-selling authors and award-winning scholars give detailed explanations of the “epic and bloody clash that followed the Japanese Empire’s attack on Hawaii,” according to the museum.

Titled “From Pearl Harbor to the Guadalcanal,” the conference focuses on the first year of American involvement in the war.
