It’s been more than eight years since Katrina shuttered the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans. But after a $52 million restoration job, the premier site is reopening this fall to an inviting lineup of performers and Broadway shows.


Comedian Jerry Seinfeld kicks things off Sept. 28 with shows at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Ticket prices range from $45 to $85.

The Men of Soul tour, featuring Jeffrey Osborne, Peabo Bryson, Freddie Jackson and Howard Hewett, comes to town Sept. 29. Showtime is 7 p.m., and tickets range from $45 to $95.

The Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra returns to the Saenger Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. with a free concert titled “Band Together.


And on Oct. 4 D.L. Hughley and Eddie Griffin bring laughs to New Orleans. Tickets to the 8 p.m. show range from $25 to $75.

Saenger’s opening gala, which stars Kristin Chenoweth and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, is set for Oct. 5. Ticket information has yet to be released.

Brian Regan performs Oct. 10 at 7:30 p.m. All seats are $39.50.


Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion plays Oct. 12 at 5 p.m. Seats are $40 to $80.

Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra perform the Abyssinian Mass on Oct. 13. Tickets for the $7 p.m. show are $35.75 to $75.75.

The legendary Diana Ross appears Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $55 to $125.


1964 The Tribute pays homage to the Beatles on Nov. 9. Tickets are $38.75 to $53.75.

Bill Maher performs Nov. 16. Tickets are $48.75 to $75.75.

Celtic Thunder perform Nov. 17; Joe Bonamassa on Nov. 26; the Irish Tenors Christmas, Dec. 3; Bonnie Raitt on Dec. 6; Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker on Dec. 26; and The Fresh Beat Band ring in the new year Jan. 10, 2014.
