Bayou Blue students return to new dig

January 3, 2007January 19-21-Looking for something to solve fishing and hunting needs? In mid-January, the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center has the solution.
The 9th annual Southern Louisiana Boat, Sport and RV Show returns to the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center for three days this month. On Jan. 19 through Jan. 21, area residents have the opportunity to attend “the biggest” three-day boat and RV sales event of the year.
The event, put on by BAC Shows, will take place throughout the entire Civic Center and West Lot—over 150,000 square feet—and boasts over 40 brands of the latest boats and RVs, along with hunting guides, archery gear, resort info, golf carts, floating docks, ATVs, deer stands, fishing tackle and more.
In all, there will be 41 different brands of boats and 57 brands of RVs.
Other attractions include the ROCK 106.3 Fish-O-Rama and a Whitetail Extravaganza.
The Fish-O-Rama is an indoor pond stocked with rainbow trout, providing shoppers an opportunity to not only test fishing skills, but also to catch dinner—a rainbow trout. The Whitetail Extravaganza offers shoppers an opportunity to see huge deer on the premises of the civic center.
Also featured is the “world’s largest mobile aquarium,” a 5,000-gallon, 42-foot long glass-walled bass tub. The aquarium gives fishermen an opportunity to see how different lures work and observe as the bass strike them.
The event starts on Friday, Jan. 19, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., which is C107.5 KCIL Family Night. On this night, all kids under 12-years old receive free admission and get to fish once for free at the Fish-O-Rama Rainbow Trout pond.
On Saturday, the show lasts from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sunday it is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults and $2 for children 6-years old to 15-years old. Any child under 6-years old gets in free.
