Summer Program: The summer reading program begins on Tuesday, May 24 at all Terrebonne Parish branch libraries for children, teens and adults.


Children’s Activities


Children’s Program: Children can register for the “One World, Many Stories” program where they will receive prizes and a certificate for reading 10 library books. They will also become eligible for a chance to win one of nine bikes to be given away at the end of the program on July 23, 2011.

Adult’s Program: Adults with a Terrebonne Parish library card can register for the summer reading program “Novel Destinations” at any branch library and receive prizes for reading or listening to four books.

Main Branch

Exhibit: Corinne Polk’s display of Houmas Indian handiwork can be viewed in the lobby.

Exhibit: A traveling exhibit provided by the Louisiana Sea Grant College Program can be viewed through May. The exhibit promotes stewardship of the state’s coastal resources and addresses major marine and coastal challenges.

Exhibit: Art exhibit by James Shutts will be on view.

Tuesday, May 3, 6:30 p.m. – Thinking Out Loud Book Discussion facilitated by Jackie Jackson will meet to discuss “The Help” by Kathryne Stockett.

Saturday, May 21, 10 a.m. – Gathering Moments group. Enjoy lively conversation about books. This month’s topic is the popular book “Eat Pray Love: Part II” by Elizabeth Gilbert. This group meets every third month and is open to the public.
