With over 100 TV appearances, including stints on Showtime and Comedy Central, “The Mutzie Show” returns to Thibodaux Sept. 14 and Sept. 15.

The New Orleans comic – still displaced from Katrina in Mississippi – brings his adult comedy fare to Fremin’s Fine Dining Restaurant for two shows nightly.

Twice named “New Orleans Entertainer of the Year” and three times selected the “Funniest Person in Louisiana” contest winner, Mutzie has logged thousands of shows in seven different countries. He’s brought his own blend of humor – featuring props, some home-grown characters and rapid-fire improv – to stages across the globe.

The eternal class clown, Mutzie launched his comedy career in 1984 at the famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles. His friends coaxed him into trying his hand on amateur night. After a three-minute set, he left the audience standing, yelling for more.

Mutzie’s two shows at Fremin’s in 2006 were complete sell-outs, said Christina Wixon, spokesperson for the restaurant. “We had a packed house for all the shows,” she said. Again, only 100 tickets will be available. The show is intended for adults ages 21 or older. Tickets are $10 per person.
